Intercultura is a language school with 14 years of experience and a friendly, professional, multi-lingual staff. We offer students campuses in both colonial Heredia, located just 20 minutes form the Costa Rica's capital city, and in the beautiful pacific beach town of Sámara. Daily intensive Spanish classes are offered at both campuses in addition to specialized Spanish courses, dance, cooking and other cultural classes. University credit is available through a number of US and Canadian Universities. Both campuses have an English program for local students which gives our Spanish students an excellent opportunity to meet and make friends with Costa Ricans. Homestay's with one of our local Costa Rican families are encouraged, however, the school also offers students lodging in a number of hotels, apartments, and pensiones. Academia de Español D’Amore, in existence for eleven years, is a quality educational institution created to facilitate the learning of Spanish it offers six specific levels of Spanish proficiency to guarantee the students an appropriate placement. Our students range from absolute beginners to advanced speakers of the language. The student body is typically comprised of professors, medical professionals, business leaders and students from over 35 countries.. Most students participate in the month program although 2 and 3 week courses are also available. To assure the highest quality education.

Currently students attending the school are being given credit for semester hours in the following colleges: Florida State University, Wilkes University in Pennsylvania. In the past other colleges who have accepted semester hours from this program are Texas TEC, University of Texas, Carroll College University, etc..

Our methodology is based on the whole language immersion method of learning; therefore the professors conduct the lessons completely in Spanish completely in Spanish. Students are suggested to participate in the homestay program designed to satisfy the fulfillment of a complete immersion in foreign language acquisition. There are course offered specific to the Medical and Legal Professions for Spanish.

Learning Spanish is a difficult task - our goal is to provide you with all the tools you need while immersing you in the Spanish speaking culture.

Learn Spanish Online:
Conversa also offers live one on one Spanish courses online using video teleconferencing software. If you're not able to travel to Latin America, you can still learn Spanish from the comfort of your home or office. This approach to teaching Spanish integrates live instruction with a valuable Spanish Resource Portal called “ConversaConmigo," available only to Conversa students. All you need is a high-speed internet connection and a headset and you're good to go!

College Credit for our Spanish Courses:
Conversa has been a member of the College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS) since 1991. Since then students from all across the United States have benefited from our programs, learning Spanish and getting the well-deserved recognition for their efforts. We offer over ten different college level Spanish courses, ranging from Elementary Spanish all the way through to Advanced Conversation and Selected Readings in Latin American Literature.

WAYRA Instituto de Español specializes in teaching Spanish to foreign students and residents. Our Swiss and Latin American managed school, operates in a pristine environment and offers an ideal setting for people that are interested in learning Spanish by following a full immersion program.

WAYRA is centrally located in Playa Tamarindo and just 150 meters from the beach.
The school is situated in a beautiful tropical garden. On the premises the students can find three buildings and two small ranchos (open air dry palm huts).
All the classrooms are distributed among the buildings. The classrooms are spacious and comfortable, with large open windows to create a comfortable and appropriate atmosphere to study.
